Dr. Neeta Lal, M.D., M.S.W., Is a board-certified Adult Neurologist. Dr. Lal has also completed a Master of Social Work degree and practiced as a psychiatric medication provider.
Dr. Lal completed her undergraduate degree In biology at Harvard University, graduating cum laude In 2005. She received her medical degree from Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine in Chicago, Illinois, in 2010, and subsequently completed her adult neurology residency training at Washington University, Barnes-Jewish Hospital In Saint Louis, Missouri, in 2014.
Dr. Lal has significant neurologic experience, and has worked In various locum tenens positions, including underserved areas in Missouri, Nebraska, and Pennsylvania. She has also worked as a full-time general neurologist at lntermountaln Neurosciences Institute in Murray, Utah. However, finding that time with patients and counseling/psychoeducation opportunities were lacking In medical practice, Dr. Lal pursued and completed a Master of Social Work Degree in 2023 from the University of Southern California, Suzanne Dworak-Peck School of Social Work.
She was able to complete her social work internship at New Roads Behavioral Health In Utah, and was subsequently given an opportunity to serve as one of their psychiatric education prescribers, working with high-acuity clients at the residential level and lower levels of care. This not only included full psychiatric evaluations, but also medication management and the seamless incorporation of therapeutic techniques. Dr. Lal has participated in talks on trauma-informed behavioral interventions and obsessive-compulsive disorder at the Annual Conference on Critical Issues Facing Children & Adolescents. She has also completed training in exposure and response/ritual prevention for obsessive-compulsive disorder.
